Digital Belgium and education ministers to work together on digital skills
Federal Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Digital Agenda and Telecom, Alexander De Croo, today met with Hilde Crevits, Joëlle Milquet and Harald Mollers, the education ministers of the three communities in Belgium. Saskia Van Uffelen, who as Digital Champion wants to stimulate digital skills in education and the economy, also attended the meeting.
The federal government launched Digital Belgium yesterday. Digital Belgium sets out Belgium's digital long-term vision and a focus on digital skills is an important part of this action plan. In the future nine out of ten jobs will require digital skills. To ensure that as many people as possible, regardless of their age and background, are able to seize every opportunity offered to them in our digital society, acquiring these digital skills is crucial. Education plays an important role in this.
This is why the four ministers agreed to work together on digital skills.
