Belgium contributes 10 million euro to Global Fundraising Initiative ‘She Decides’ and organizes international conference on 2nd of March in Brussels
Belgium is organizing on 2nd of March in Brussels the International Conference She Decides. Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Development Cooperation Alexander De Croo will chair the international conference. Netherlands, Sweden and Denmark are co-organizer. On behalf of Belgium, minister De Croo also pledges 10 million euro to the Global Fundraising Initiative She Decides in support of the rights of girls and women, and in particular their sexual and reproductive health and rights.
The international conference will be held at the Egmont Palace in Brussels. Like-minded countries, NGOs and international organizations will lend their support to organizations working on sexual and reproductive rights of women and girls.
The Netherlands, Sweden and Denmark are co-organizer. Other countries such as Luxembourg, Finland, Canada and Cape Verde have already joined the initiative.
Alexander De Croo: “Every woman should have the ability to decide for herself freely, whether, when and how many children she wants to have. Especially for girls it is important that before starting a family, they have a chance to go to school, finish their education and gain the knowledge and skills to stand up for themselves.”
“During the Brussels International Conference we will join forces and rally support for all these efforts that make sexual and reproductive health and rights a reality for millions of women and girls around the world.”
