Alexander De Croo launches 'Digital Minds for Belgium'
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Digital Agenda and Telecom Alexander De Croo had a first meeting today with the ‘Digital Minds for Belgium’, a group that has a deep-rooted experience in the digital world. The group consists of internet entrepreneurs, CEO’s of technology companies, academics, venture capitalists and opinion-makers. They will support the launching and rolling out of the Digital Agenda for Belgium.
Alexander De Croo: “With the Digital Agenda for Belgium we want to unleash the economic potential of digital economy in our country, from a good support of young start-ups to the deployment of state-of-the-art infrastructure. In recent weeks I had dozens of interesting talks on the subject with people in the field who bit per bit are building the digital economy. This led to the idea to launch the ‘Digital Minds for Belgium’, a group of digital thinkers who have one passion in common: the transformation of Belgium into a digital ecosystem creating economic progress, jobs and innovation.”
The ‘Digital Minds for Belgium’ will support the launch and rollout of the Digital Agenda for Belgium. The launch of this concrete action plan aimed at reinforcing the digital economy in our country should take place later this spring. “The ‘Digital Minds will act as a sounding board, just like a company board can be. Therefore I am also pleased that allot of leading figures accepted the invitation. The composition of the group is intentionally very diverse: bringing together young startuppers, CEO’s of big companies and digital thinkers gives an interesting mix of people allowing for raising creative ideas. Diversity leads to innovation."
